IS 456 Code 2000 Free Download PDF: IS 456-2000 Plain and Reinforced Concrete – Code of Practice is an Indian standard code of practice for the general structural use of plain and reinforced concrete. The latest version of this standard was done in the year 2000 and reaffirmed in 2021. This code uses a working stress design approach along with a limit state design approach. However, the Code recommends the use of the boundary condition design approach. It is written for use in India. It gives detailed information on various aspects of concrete.

As per IS: 456-2000:
- The code recommends that the minimum grade of concrete in reinforced concrete work should not be less than M20.
- Design mix concrete is preferred for nominal strength.
- If design mix concrete cannot be used for any reason on work of grade M20 or below, the nominal mix may be used with the permission of the Engineer-in-Charge, although it may contain higher cement content. There is a possibility.
