The authors are pleased to present this enlarged volume of the book on Matrices. In response to the repeated demand of several students, many more topics have been added to make it a complete course for the honors and postgraduate classes of Indian universities. In addition to more theorems and problems on eigenvalues and eigenvectors, three more chapters have been added. These chapters cover orthogonal vectors, unitary and orthogonal groups, the similarity of matrices, normal matrices, and quadratic forms.
Throughout the book, the subject matter is discussed in such a simple way that students will not have any difficulty understanding it. Students are advised to first read the theoretical portion thoroughly and then try to solve the numerical problems themselves, using the book for help whenever necessary.
