If a word denotes one person or thing it is said to be in the singular.
such as- Boy, Girl, Leaf, Actor, Mango, Class etc. If a word denotes more than one person or thing, it is said to be in the plural. such as- Boys, Girls, Leaves, Actors, Mangoes, Classes
Rules For Changing For Singular to Plural Generally Plural are formed by adding “-s” to the singular.
Singular Plural Boy Boys Girl Girls Tiger Tigers Pen Pens Book Books Diamond Diamonds Flower Flowers Fan Fans Words ending in “-s”, “-sh”, “-ch” or “-x” add “-es” to form their plural.
Singular Plural Box Boxes Tax Taxes Bush Bushes Kiss Kisses Branch Branches Church Churches Match Matches Words ending in “-o” add “-es” to form their plural.
Singular Plural Mango Mangoes Potato Patotoes Tomato Tomatoes Buffalo Buffaloes Volcano Volcanoes Echo Echoes Hero Heroes A few words ending in “-o” add merely “-s” to form their plural.
