Maharashtra has been the center of trade industry, commercial since ancient times. Because of this many rulers ruled in such a picture. In the beginning, it was ruled by the Vakatakas. Later the Yadavs defeated them. After the rule of the Yadavas, the Mughal ruler Alauddin Khilji established his rule here. After that, under the leadership of Chhatrapati Shivaji, the Marathas fought against the Mughals and became the king of Maharashtra in 1680. After this, the British occupied this area.
